Where we live

Located on the equator, in a valley just 20 minutes outside of Quito, Ecuador, our property consists of approximately five acres that could aptly be named "Eden." At an elevation of 8,600 feet, we enjoy year-round temperatures with highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's. There is a "wet" and "dry" season, corresponding roughly to the North American winter and summer. Our property is "framed" by the majesty of a mountain above and behind us, a view of the valley basin below and in the distance a breath-taking view of the 19,600 ft. snow-covered volcanic mountain called Cotopaxi. (For more information, visit Ecuador's official website at vivecuador.com.)

A multi-purpose building is under construction at Montebello, which will house a large kitchen, nine bedrooms, nine classrooms, and a large activity area. The design allows for sleeping quarters for 40 people, and will house our visiting work teams during the summer. The classrooms will accommodate up to 100 children, with additional movable study areas within the auditorium as the ministries grow.

Other buildings on site currently include the "main house" which houses Ron and Sharon Stiff and their adopted children, a large guesthouse with six bedrooms, another three-bedroom home, a smaller "schoolhouse," and a greenhouse.
