VALERIA
Then...

Valeria (age 10) and her brother, Anthony (age 5), are the newcomers at
Montebello, arriving December 2005. They were rescued after their aunt,
Corolla, had her left leg amputated due to a serious infection which
developed many years after she had been bitten by a snake. Corolla had been
attempting to care for the children, who had been abandoned by their mother,
but she was unable to continue caring for them. We are thrilled to have
Anthony and Valerie join us, the first to arrive from the jungle area in
which we minister regularly. They are quickly adapting to life in an
entirely new setting from which they were familiar (living in an open-air
home with no running water, no bathrooms, no electricity). They are bright
and eager to learn, and have fit in beautifully with the rest of the family.
