Statement of Faith

We believe in the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit): that there is one God manifest in three distinct persons, each wholly God.

We believe that salvation is received by the grace of God alone and is granted to sinful man through the atonement secured through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His sacrifice on our behalf satisfied God's claims against our sin nature, and gives us right standing with God.

We believe that the Holy Spirit abides in those of us who confess Him as Savior and Lord -- teaching us, guiding us, and communicating His will to our hearts and minds. We believe, as Paul states, that the Holy Spirit in us is "the guarantee of our inheritance"-our complete redemption and right to enjoy God forever.

We believe that a Believer can be filled with the Holy Spirit, which is not necessarily a one-time act of grace apart from salvation, but the result of complete surrender to the work of the Lord in our lives.

We believe that the full range of manifestations of the Holy Spirit are as unrestricted today as they were before the passing of the completion of the New Testament cannon of Scripture, and that all gifts of the Spirit are given as HE WILLS (Rom. 12, I Cor. 12-14). We believe that manifestations such as speaking in tongues or prophecy are not necessarily markers of spiritual maturity, nor do they mean that someone is "filled with the Holy Spirit." We do not emphasize these gifts nor are we opposed to them when exercised in agreement with the Word of God.

We believe that a Believer's salvation is secure and that eternity in heaven with God is our promised reward.

We believe that a Believer who loves God will want to serve Him. We encourage those who are associated with us in ministry to not "lose their first love." If service supersedes love, then God's order has been reversed. Evidence of the love of Christ residing in us is first and foremost the love we exhibit for one another. We believe that we are called first to pursue a love relationship with the Lord, and second to make disciples for Jesus.
