Ministry Partners

From the very beginning of this ministry (including its inception in our hearts and minds 20 years before God said, "go,") our goal has NOT BEEN to live our vision here and find others who will finance it. Rather, in every way, we have structured what we believe God has called us to so that others can be a part.

Part of our calling is to provide a platform for ministry that encourages others' participation. This is accomplished in a variety of ways, many of which you may read about in this website: praying regularly, visiting us in Ecuador with your family or church group, becoming a pen pal with one of the children, exposing the ministry to your family, friends and church, and ministering through financial giving.

About involvement through giving: While we realize that the typical family receives many solicitations to give to various ministries (you learn about them at church, in the visual and oral media, and in your mailbox), we have committed to publish ongoing information about the ministry only to those who have requested it. God has faithfully provided givers (by all means listed above) through hearts willing to hear and respond to His call. We have been the grateful recipients of gifts large and small, monetary and intangible, and we are indeed humbled and praise God for His provisions.

We have read extensively about how other ministries have approached this topic, and specifically how leaders of orphanages have handled it. We rejoice in George Mueller's approach of not "publishing" the orphanages' needs and watching God provide often just in the nick of time! And we are grateful for the example of missionary legend Amy Carmichael who worked in the virgin mission territory of India in the mid-1800's sharing Mueller's philosophy. However, God did indeed provide for their ministries through exposure: George's through being located in the very populated city of Bristol, England with many daily on-site visitors and Amy's by gifting her with writing over twenty books, some of which sold over 500,000 copies telling the story of her work.

While we are neither located in an area where our ministry is exposed daily to many who could provide (the area surrounding Montebello is quite poor), nor are we writing and selling books in order to provide for our daily needs and tell our story here, God is interested in our obedience in sharing our needs so that He can provide through those who are informed and are led to give.

In Second Corinthians 9, Paul commends the church for giving to supply God's people according to needs that Paul himself informed them of, saying that the harvest of righteousness would increase for the giver and that the ability to give would increase as well, resulting in an expression of thanksgiving to God who supplies to the giver as well as the one receiving. We believe that the Holy Spirit will continue to stir the hearts of men and women about their participation in His work here. If He is tugging on your heart to be a part, we certainly would love to hear from you!
