Where We Live

Former street-kid now ministers in his "old" neighborhood
Christian discipleship in an atmosphere of love and accountability produces results, and none are more apparent than in the life of Boris. There's just something about this guy that rubs off on you that you just can't shake.
Maybe it's God's miraculous transformation in his life from a street-kid (kicked out of his parents' home at age 12) to embrace God wholeheartedly and give his life in service to Him. God rescued him from the streets of Bogota, Columbia and then Quito, Ecuador through Ron and Sharon's invitation to live in their home. Today (7 years later) Boris lives with a Christian family in Quito, and he travels by bus to Montebello daily to attend school, and to share fellowship around the dinner table with Ron, Sharon and the kids. He is a popular host and translator for Christian teams who visit Quito and surrounding areas. Recently, Boris asked Emily Stiff if she would join him on a translation team for a group who was planning to visit Quito. Only after he and Emily met the group face-to-face did they realize they were working with Franklin Graham and a team from Samaritan's Purse! Perhaps another reason Boris is unforgettable is his zest for life and his desire to keep on giving back to his God, his mighty Warrior and Rescuer. Boris has a passion for reaching street-kids with the message of Jesus, and when he is not in school you can find him on the streets of Quito doing just that. Ron and Sharon believed in an abandoned child named Boris and today his name is written in the Book of Life.
