Meet Boris, the nineteen year old Colombian boy who came to live here at Montebello five years ago. At the age of twelve, Boris's mother forced him out of the house,
and though he waited on the doorstep for a couple of days, she refused to let him back in. He quickly learned that the streets of Bogotá, Colombia were not the safest
place to be. Through circumstances that are nothing short of miraculous, Boris made his way to new streets in Quito, Ecuador. It was there that we met him and brought
him home to live with us. In the past five years, Boris has learned many things. Among those is English, and he is now nearly fluent verbally with this second
language. This ability has given him tremendous opportunities as a translator for visiting groups. He is also involved in ministry to those who still live on the
street, many of whom were his friends several years ago. Boris has continued his studies, as well, and hopes to eventually find work in the tourist industry.
